Over time, Wanjari allegedly built a rapport with the student and began making promises of marriage. Police state that he repeatedly called her to his home, which also served as his office. It was there, as per the complaint, that he forcibly established physical relations with her on multiple occasions between December 15, 2024, and October 20, 2025.

The case took a turn when the young woman discovered that Vicky Wanjari was involved in another romantic relationship. Feeling betrayed and realising the fraudulent nature of his marriage promises, she confronted him. The accused reportedly refused to provide any explanation or resolution.
Following this, the victim gathered the courage to approach the authorities. She filed a formal complaint at the Sadar police station, detailing the allegations of rape and criminal intimidation. Acting promptly on her complaint, Sadar police arrested Vicky Wanjari immediately. He has been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for rape and criminal intimidation.
