Nagpur Police Crack Murder Case, Arrest Suspect

Nagpur police have made a significant arrest in a murder case that shocked the local community. Butibori police arrested a 28-year-old man for allegedly killing a 48-year-old resident of Satgaon. The victim went missing just days before the crime came to light.

Missing Person Complaint Leads to Investigation

The incident unfolded when Abhijit Neware, a 22-year-old from Satgaon, filed a missing person complaint with Butibori police. He reported that his father, Vasantha, left for work on January 9 but did not return home the next morning. Family members and authorities conducted extensive searches, but Vasantha remained untraceable, raising serious concerns.

Police Action Under Senior Guidance

Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Harssh A Poddar and Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Mhaske, Butibori police launched a thorough investigation. They quickly zeroed in on a suspect, Lokesh alias Lanka Dhaborde, a 28-year-old resident of Ridhora. The police took him into custody for questioning.

Confession and Arrest

During interrogation, Lokesh allegedly confessed to murdering Vasantha. Based on his confession and other evidence, the police registered a case under Section 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). They formally arrested the accused, marking a swift resolution to the case.

The arrest has brought some relief to the victim's family, though the investigation continues to uncover further details. Police officials have commended the team's efforts in solving the case promptly.
