Officer Threatened During Land Inspection

G Bhavya, the village administration officer, visited Gudamadanahalli village in Mysuru taluk on December 31. She went there to inspect land earmarked for acquisition by the government. The inspection was part of preparations for a planned project in the area.

Verbal Abuse and Murder Threats

According to the First Information Report filed with Mysuru South police, Puttaswamy, a local villager, confronted the officer during her inspection. He allegedly used obscene language and verbally abused Bhavya. The FIR states that he threatened to murder her, creating a frightening situation for the officer.

Village assistant Naveen Kumar accompanied Bhavya during the inspection. Both officers reportedly faced aggression from the villager. Puttaswamy prevented them from carrying out their official duties, effectively obstructing government work.

Project Background and Police Action

The land inspection was related to a proposed Nimhans-model hospital planned for Gudamadanahalli village. Authorities have reserved approximately twenty acres across different survey numbers for this healthcare facility. The government project aims to improve medical services in the region.

Police have taken immediate action following the incident. Officers questioned Puttaswamy about the alleged threats and obstruction. The FIR documents the serious nature of the threats made against the woman officer while she was simply doing her job.
