MRPS Founder Calls for Judicial Inquiry into Dalit Man's Custodial Death

Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi founder Manda Krishna Madiga made strong demands on Friday. He called for a thorough investigation into the alleged custodial death of Dalit man Karla Rajesh in Kodad. Krishna Madiga specifically requested that the state government order an inquiry by a sitting judge or the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Allegations Against Police Officials

Krishna Madiga named specific police officers in his allegations. He demanded that Chilkur sub-inspector Suresh Reddy be named as the primary accused in the case. He also sought that Kodad circle inspector Prathap Lingam be listed as the second accused.

The MRPS founder accused these officers of illegal detention and torture. He insisted that provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act should apply to their actions. Krishna Madiga further demanded that Kodad DSP and Suryapet SP be included as third and fourth accused in the FIR.

He alleged that these senior officers attempted to conceal evidence related to the case. Krishna Madiga expressed serious concerns about what he described as attempts to shield those responsible for Rajesh's death.

Press Conference Statements

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, Krishna Madiga made pointed remarks about the investigation. "So far, no police officer was able to say that Rajesh did not die due to police torture," he stated clearly.

He leveled serious allegations against the police system. Krishna Madiga claimed that police treat the lives of their personnel differently from Dalit lives. He accused the system of acting carelessly while protecting accused officers.

Drawing Comparisons with Other Cases

Krishna Madiga drew a stark comparison with another recent case. He noted that in Nizamabad, history-sheeter Sheikh Riyaz was encountered and killed within four days of killing a constable.

He contrasted this with the Kodad case. When a Dalit man like Rajesh was tortured and killed in illegal custody, the law failed to punish those responsible, he emphasized. This comparison highlighted what he sees as unequal treatment under the law.

Background of the Case

Karla Rajesh was an accused in a chief minister's relief fund misappropriation case. His death in police custody has raised serious questions about police procedures and accountability.

The MRPS founder's demands come amid growing concerns about custodial deaths and treatment of marginalized communities. His call for external investigation reflects widespread distrust in internal police inquiries in such sensitive cases.
