Heartbreaking Discovery in Dumka Village
In a tragic conclusion to a nine-day search, police in Dumka recovered the body of a four-year-old boy from a roadside bush on Tuesday. The discovery was made in Sarmi village, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Details of the Case
According to Officer in-charge Manish Kumar of the Ramgarh police station, the deceased child was identified as Hardik Kumar Rai. The boy was living with his maternal grandmother. He vanished on December 21 while playing in front of his home.
His grandmother officially reported him missing the following day, initiating an extensive search operation. After the grim discovery, the body was sent to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Authorities have confirmed that a thorough investigation is currently underway.
A Disturbing Pattern of Unsolved Cases
This incident casts a grim shadow over the region, highlighting a worrying pattern. The police officer revealed that another chilling case remains unsolved. In August, a seven-year-old student of St. Monica Residential School in Kushmaha village went missing. His body was later discovered in a paddy field near the school premises.
Despite a comprehensive investigation being launched at that time, no significant breakthrough has been achieved in that case so far. The back-to-back tragedies involving young children have raised serious concerns about child safety and the effectiveness of investigative measures in the area.
The local police are under increasing pressure to expedite the probe into Hardik Kumar Rai's death and to revisit the stalled investigation from August. The community awaits answers and justice for the young lives lost under mysterious and heartbreaking circumstances.
