A tragic incident has come to light in Warangal City, where a minor girl died by suicide on Sunday night. According to police, the girl was allegedly subjected to prolonged sexual exploitation by a 31-year-old married man, who is also a father to a four-year-old son.
Details of the Incident
Matwada inspector N Karunakar stated that the accused befriended the minor and repeatedly sexually abused her. On June 13, which was also the girl's birthday, she visited a temple and later met the accused. The duo reportedly went to a lodge in Kazipet, where the girl asked him to marry her. However, the accused refused, citing caste differences as the reason.
Later that evening, the girl fell ill, which was noticed by her sister. Upon questioning, the girl disclosed the alleged sexual assault by the accused. She also revealed that when she threatened to take her own life after the accused refused to marry her, he allegedly told her to "do as you wish."
Suicide and Police Action
Distressed by the events, the minor took the extreme step on Sunday night. Her parents discovered her body and alerted neighbors, who informed the police. Officers rushed to the scene and shifted the body to MGM Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's parents on Monday, a case has been registered against the accused under several sections, including:
- Section 64(2)(m) and 108 of the BNS
- Section 6 of the POCSO Act
- Section 3(2)(V) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act
Further investigation is underway. Police are probing the matter to bring the accused to justice.
