Minor Boy Faces Brutal Assault and Humiliation in Ujjain

A shocking incident of violence and public humiliation has emerged from Ujjain district in Madhya Pradesh. A minor boy from the Banjara community suffered a brutal assault after relatives of a Bairagi community girl targeted him over a past elopement.

The Background of the Conflict

The trouble began three to four months ago when the boy and the girl decided to elope together. Authorities caught both individuals approximately two and a half weeks later. Police presented them at the Panwasa police station at that time.

Officials sent the girl to a reform home following standard procedures. They sent the boy to jail. He gained his release after serving about a month and a half in custody. After his release, the minor went to live with his disabled mother in Dewas district.

The Fatal Return to Panwasa

On Thursday, the boy made what would become a dangerous trip back to Shankarpur in the Panwasa area. He needed to collect money from a friend because his mother had fallen seriously ill. She required hospital admission in Dewas.

Relatives of the girl quickly learned about his presence in the locality. They immediately confronted the minor. The boy described the terrifying moment to media persons while keeping his face covered for protection.

"They surrounded me. They had a knife. When I ran, my leg got entangled in a bush and I fell down. I was scared to see the knife," the victim recounted.

The Violent Attack and Public Humiliation

Gamarsingh Mandloi, the in-charge of Panwasa police station, provided details about the confrontation. The relatives questioned the boy aggressively about his return after the elopement incident.

When the boy explained that he had come to meet a friend and that this was his home area, the situation escalated dramatically. The group began abusing him verbally before launching a physical assault.

The attackers used a stick to beat the minor and kicked him repeatedly. The violent blows caused injuries to multiple parts of his body including:

  • His hands and feet
  • His face and back
  • His legs

One attacker then tore the boy's clothes completely off his body. The group proceeded to parade him naked through the area while issuing death threats. They also blackened his face during the assault to increase his humiliation.

"They paraded me naked for 1 to 1.5 km with my face blackened," the boy stated about his ordeal.

A friend of the victim eventually intervened to stop the attack, preventing potentially worse consequences.

Police Response and Legal Action

Based on the minor's formal complaint, police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities took four persons into custody initially.

Police released the female accused and a juvenile after providing appropriate counselling as per legal provisions. They presented the two main accused before an executive magistrate under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

The magistrate considered the serious apprehension of breach of peace and sent both individuals to jail. Police formed special teams to arrest two more accused persons including another minor.

Investigators are examining video footage that circulated on social media platforms. They are working to identify other suspicious persons who may have participated in or witnessed the assault.
