Mathura Village Witnesses Gruesome Murder-Suicide Attempt
A horrific incident unfolded in a Mathura district village on Sunday morning, where a 22-year-old man allegedly murdered his sister-in-law before attempting to take his own life. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, is reported to have used a razor blade to carry out the brutal attack.
Police Detail Disturbing Sequence of Events
According to police officials, the tragedy occurred around 8:30 AM. The confrontation reportedly stemmed from an incident the previous night. SHO Sonu Kumar stated, "Prima facie, the man did not have good intentions towards his sister-in-law. He tried to force himself on her on Saturday night, and when she threatened to inform his brother, he killed her before attempting suicide."
The victim, also 22 years old, was a resident of Agra and had been married to the accused's elder brother for approximately three months. Both brothers were employed at a local brick kiln.
Family Discovers Bloody Scene, Attempts to Conceal Evidence
Family members discovered both individuals lying in a pool of blood. They were initially taken to a community health centre, where doctors pronounced the sister-in-law dead. The critically injured man was subsequently referred to a medical facility in Agra as his condition worsened.
Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar revealed alarming details about the family's initial response. "The family did not inform the police initially and appeared to have attempted to destroy evidence. The blade used in the murder was found in a stove. Bedsheets and mattresses had been washed and placed on the roof, while other items were hidden in sacks," the SSP explained.
Forensic Investigation Underway
Forensic teams have been deployed to the scene to collect crucial evidence. The victim's body has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather further forensic details.
Police are continuing their investigation into the motive and the full circumstances surrounding this tragic domestic violence case. The condition of the accused man remains critical at the Agra medical facility.
