Begusarai Man Fatally Shot During Visit to In-Laws in Khagaria
A tragic incident unfolded in Khagaria district, where a young man lost his life under shocking circumstances. Police have confirmed the arrest of four family members in connection with the murder.
Victim Identified as Tonish Kumar
Tonish Kumar, a 22-year-old resident of Dandari police station area in Begusarai, was the victim. He visited his in-laws' house in Janglimandal Tola, which falls under the Mufassil police station jurisdiction.
Details of the Fatal Morning
On Thursday morning, Tonish's family received devastating news. They learned that Tonish had gone for a solitary walk towards the fields near his in-laws' home. It was during this walk that unknown assailants shot him dead.
Tonish had arrived at his in-laws' residence just five days prior to the incident. He traveled there with his wife, Indu Devi, marking his first visit since their marriage.
Family Allegations and Police Action
The victim's family has made serious allegations against his in-laws. They claim the murder resulted from an illicit affair between Tonish's wife, Indu Devi, and her brother-in-law.
Acting swiftly on a written complaint filed by the grieving family, police arrested four individuals. Those taken into custody include Indu Devi, her sister Khushboo Devi, her mother Renu Devi, and her father Amin Yadav.
Police Investigation Underway
Mufassil Station House Officer Sangeeta Kumari provided updates on the case. She stated that the family's complaint named five people involved in the murder. Police have arrested four suspects and continue raids to apprehend the remaining accused.
"The case is being investigated from all angles," SHO Kumari emphasized, highlighting the thorough approach being taken.
Background of the Marriage
Niranjan Yadav, the deceased's uncle, shared insights into the couple's relationship. Tonish married Indu on December 9 last year. Following the wedding, Indu moved to Begusarai to live with Tonish.
During her time in Begusarai, Indu frequently engaged in phone conversations. When questioned by the family, she insisted she was speaking with family members.
Insistence on Visiting Maternal Home
Indu persistently expressed her desire to visit her maternal home in Khagaria. She explained that her sister and brother-in-law planned to celebrate the New Year there.
Tonish initially suggested celebrating with his own family. He promised to take Indu to Khagaria on Makar Sankranti instead. However, on January 10, Tonish ultimately accompanied Indu to Khagaria.
Revelation of Past Affair
Police investigations uncovered troubling information. They revealed that an affair existed between Indu and her brother-in-law even before her marriage to Tonish.
This discovery led to tensions between the couple. Tonish and Indu reportedly argued over the issue on January 12, just days before the tragic shooting.
