Daltonganj: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday when a 35-year-old man from West Bengal was electrocuted while erecting a tent for a wedding ceremony in Daltonganj. The deceased has been identified as Tapan Kumar Das, a resident of Kolkata, who worked as a tent house worker.

Details of the Incident

Das was in the process of erecting a pole for the tent in an open plot of land overlooking a house at Sri Ram Path in the Redma locality of the town. The pole accidentally touched an 11kV overhead wire, leading to a fatal electrocution.

Immediate Response

He was immediately rushed to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, a police officer confirmed at the hospital. Sadar sub-divisional police officer Rajesh Yadav stated that a probe has been initiated into the incident.
