The incident occurred on Friday evening in Dungari ke Bandha village. According to police officials, the accused, identified as Sohanlal, fled the scene carrying the severed portion of the woman's nose after the brutal attack.
Police revealed that Sohanlal had been embroiled in a long-standing dispute with his wife's family. The couple had married approximately six years ago, but due to severe marital discord, they had been living separately for nearly a year.
Failed Mediation Attempts and Escalating Tensions
Several attempts by community members to mediate and resolve the family dispute had proven unsuccessful, according to police statements. Tension had been brewing between the families for several days, culminating in a heated argument at the house on Friday.
Later that evening, the victim, identified as Keli Devi, was on her way to the local police station to lodge a formal complaint against her son-in-law Sohanlal when he allegedly ambushed and attacked her with scissors, cutting off her nose in the violent assault.

Sarwana Station House Officer Mohan Lal confirmed that a case has been registered and an intensive search operation is underway to apprehend the accused. "The family members have taken the woman to Mehsana in Gujarat for specialized medical treatment," SHO Mohan Lal stated.
The police officer added that "the statements of the woman and family members have not been recorded yet" due to the ongoing medical emergency and treatment requirements.
