In a shocking crime driven by jealousy, the Pune Rural Police have arrested a 21-year-old man for the brutal murder of his former partner's husband. The incident occurred in Malshiras village near Jejuri on December 13, sending ripples through the local community.
Jealousy Fuels a Deadly Plot
According to Superintendent of Police (Pune Rural) Sandeep Singh Gill, the primary motive behind the murder was the accused's inability to accept his ex-partner's marriage to the 22-year-old victim. The victim had tied the knot on November 16 and was residing in Ural Kanchan, where he worked at a service station. Merely a month after the wedding, the accused began harassing the couple and issuing threats.
A Gruesome Attack After a Deceptive Invitation
The police detailed the chilling sequence of events that led to the killing. On December 13, the accused lured the victim to an isolated spot near Malshiras village under the pretext of sharing a drink. Once the victim arrived, the accused, accompanied by a minor accomplice, launched a vicious attack. They hacked the young man to death using a sharp weapon.
"He hatched a plot to eliminate her husband and hacked him to death with the help of his minor accomplice. We have detained the minor and sent him to a correctional home," stated SP Sandeep Singh Gill.
Arrest and Police Custody
The police acted swiftly on the case and subsequently took the main accused into custody at Yavat. Investigations revealed that the 21-year-old accused already has two prior cases registered against him, painting a picture of a troubled history. Following his arrest, a local court has remanded him in police custody until December 22 for further interrogation and investigation.
