Arrest Made in Kidnapping Case of Minor Girl
New Delhi: A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 17-year-old girl in northwest Delhi’s Sangam Park. Police said a complaint regarding the girl’s disappearance was received on June 15. An FIR was registered at Bharat Nagar police station under Section 137 (kidnapping) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
A team from Bharat Nagar police station launched a multi-pronged search operation involving CCTV analysis, human intelligence inputs, technical surveillance and raids at suspected locations, said DCP (Northwest) Akanksha Yadav. During the investigation, the girl was traced to the Karol Bagh area and safely rescued.
The accused, Himanshu (23), a resident of Sangam Park, was identified and arrested. According to police, he had taken the minor girl and was subsequently apprehended in connection with the case.
