In a distressing incident reported from Lucknow, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 17-year-old boy in the Aashiana locality late on Tuesday evening. According to police officials, the survivor was returning home alone from a local market when the accused, who was known to her, reportedly took her to a deserted location and committed the crime.
Case Unfolds After Local Residents Alert Authorities
The case came to light after vigilant local residents spotted the girl with the accused and his four friends in the area. Suspecting foul play, they immediately alerted the police, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Initially, authorities suspected a possible gang rape scenario due to the presence of multiple individuals. A police team rushed to the spot, detained all five boys, and promptly took the survivor to a government hospital for a thorough medical examination to gather crucial evidence.
Police Investigation Reveals Sole Perpetrator
During the subsequent investigation, police clarified that only the 17-year-old boy was involved in the rape, while the other four detained individuals were not participants in the crime. However, they are being interrogated to ascertain their exact role and any potential complicity in the incident.
The survivor has recorded her official statement, explicitly naming the 17-year-old boy as the sole perpetrator. DCP Vikrant Vir of the Central Zone stated, "We have detained the 17-year-old boy based on the statement of the survivor and are checking CCTV footage to determine the exact sequence of events."
