The case came to light after vigilant local residents spotted the girl with the accused and his four friends in the area. Suspecting foul play, they immediately alerted the police, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.

Initially, authorities suspected a possible gang rape scenario due to the presence of multiple individuals. A police team rushed to the spot, detained all five boys, and promptly took the survivor to a government hospital for a thorough medical examination to gather crucial evidence.

Police Investigation Reveals Sole Perpetrator

During the subsequent investigation, police clarified that only the 17-year-old boy was involved in the rape, while the other four detained individuals were not participants in the crime. The survivor has recorded her official statement, explicitly naming the 17-year-old boy as the sole perpetrator. DCP Vikrant Vir of the Central Zone stated, "We have detained the 17-year-old boy based on the statement of the survivor and are checking CCTV footage to determine the exact sequence of events."
