Lucknow Businessman Faces Serious Allegations of Cyber Blackmail and Sexual Assault
In a disturbing case of exploitation and digital extortion emerging from Lucknow, a local businessman stands accused of manipulating a social media influencer into a romantic relationship, sexually assaulting her, and subsequently demanding a substantial ransom of Rs 10 lakh. The perpetrator allegedly threatened to publicly distribute compromising videos of the victim if his demands were not met.
Deceptive Online Relationship and Initial Exploitation
According to the detailed complaint filed by the victim, the accused initially made contact through a Facebook friend request. As their digital conversations developed over time, he falsely presented himself as having been separated from his wife for four years, gradually building emotional trust with the influencer. During this manipulative courtship period, he allegedly convinced her to share semi-nude photographs under false pretenses of intimacy and trust.
Escalation to Sexual Assault and Video Recording
The situation took a violent turn in May 2025 when the accused invited the victim to a hotel located near Munshi Pulia in Lucknow. The complaint alleges that he spiked her drink, rendering her incapacitated, before proceeding to sexually assault her. Most shockingly, the entire traumatic incident was secretly recorded on video without her knowledge or consent.
Systematic Cyber Blackmail Campaign
The recorded video became the primary tool for extortion. The accused allegedly created a fraudulent Instagram account using the victim's identity and uploaded her private photographs and the assault video to this fake profile. To maximize psychological pressure and public humiliation, he reportedly shared her personal mobile number alongside these posts, exposing her to harassment from strangers.
When the victim resisted his demands for money, the threats intensified. She claims that both the accused and his wife, identified as Priyanka, jointly threatened her, creating additional pressure and fear for her safety.
Legal Proceedings and Police Investigation
Following initial inaction by the Indira Nagar police station, the determined victim sought judicial intervention through the local court. This legal pressure resulted in the formal registration of a case against the businessman.
Assistant Commissioner of Police for Ghazipur (Indiranagar), Anindya Vikram Singh, has confirmed that investigative procedures are now actively underway.
