Liquor Company Employee Brutally Assaulted and Robbed of ₹22 Lakh in Ludhiana
In a shocking late-night incident in Ludhiana, a liquor company employee was violently attacked and robbed of approximately ₹22 lakh in cash. The brutal assault occurred on Saturday night in the Vishal Nagar area, sending shockwaves through the local community and prompting an intensive police investigation.
Violent Late-Night Encounter
The victim, identified as Hardeep Singh, was traveling in a Mahindra Bolero vehicle when three assailants on a motorcycle intercepted his path around 10:15 PM. According to police reports, the attackers used sharp-edged weapons to assault Singh before fleeing with the substantial cash amount he was transporting.
The victim had collected the funds from various liquor vends and was nearly at the company office where he was supposed to deposit the money when the attack occurred. This timing suggests the perpetrators had precise knowledge of the cash movement schedule.
Company Operations and Routine Cash Collection
Shivkaran Singh Bisla, a resident of Gurdev Nagar and partner in the liquor company, filed the official complaint. He revealed that the firm operates approximately 16 liquor vends across the area, and it was standard procedure for collected cash to be deposited at the Vishal Nagar office.
"This was part of our regular cash collection routine from different vends," Bisla stated in his complaint to authorities. "The money was being transported for secure deposit when the attack happened."
Police Investigation and Suspicious Circumstances
The Dugri police have registered a case under Sections 304 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and launched a comprehensive investigation. Several troubling details have emerged:

- Initial investigations indicate the attackers were following the victim from Phullanwal Chowk
- The motorcycle used in the crime reportedly had no number plate, complicating immediate identification

ACP Satwinder Singh addressed the media regarding the case, stating: "We are working diligently to identify the suspects involved in this serious crime. Our teams are examining all available evidence, and we are confident that we will apprehend the perpetrators soon."
