Aligarh Court Imposes Life Sentence for Heinous Crime Against Minor
A Pocso court in Aligarh has delivered a stern verdict, sentencing a 24-year-old man to life imprisonment for the brutal murder of a 10-year-old boy following a sexual assault. Additional district sessions judge Anil Kumar pronounced the judgment, also imposing a substantial fine of Rs 70,000 on the convict.
Chilling Details of the Case Emerge
According to additional district government counsel Mahesh Sharma, the tragic incident unfolded when the young victim, a Class 5 student, failed to return home from school on June 17, 2025. After frantic searches proved futile, the distressed family members lodged a formal missing person's complaint with local authorities.
Police swiftly registered a case under BNS section 137-2, pertaining to kidnapping, and launched a comprehensive investigation. Acting on crucial intelligence, law enforcement officials detained a resident from the same village as the victim. Investigators revealed that the accused maintained a friendship with the victim's elder brother, adding a layer of betrayal to the already horrific crime.
Gruesome Confession and Evidence Recovery
During intensive interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to committing unspeakable acts. He admitted to sodomising the innocent child at a secluded millet farm before proceeding to strangle him to death. In a desperate attempt to conceal his monstrous deeds, he then doused the body with petrol and set it ablaze to destroy evidence.
Police teams managed to recover the charred remains, which were subsequently sent for postmortem examination. At the crime scene, investigators seized several critical pieces of evidence including:
- An empty bottle containing residual traces of petrol
- A matchbox used to ignite the fire
- Garments belonging to the accused
Legal Proceedings and Final Verdict
Based on the mounting evidence, police expanded the charges against the accused by adding sections 5/6 of the stringent Pocso Act, along with BNS sections 103-1 for murder and 238-A for disappearance of evidence. The accused was promptly remanded to judicial custody.
