Jaisalmer: The Kotwali police on Saturday brought two members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to Sriganganagar from Mumbai Central Jail on a production warrant. They were produced before a court and subsequently taken on police remand. The duo is allegedly involved in planning a firing and conducting a recce at a jeweller's shop in Sriganganagar city.
Accused Identified
The accused have been identified as Pradeep Sharma (22) and Deepak (25), both residents of Agra in Uttar Pradesh. Police stated that they had come to Sriganganagar at the behest of another gang member.
Details of the Case
Sriganganagar SP Harishankar Yadav said the gang had allegedly threatened a local jeweller with death for extortion and conducted a recce to intimidate him and extort money. A case was registered at Kotwali police station, and an investigation was launched into the role of the duo.
The two accused were previously involved in a firing incident in Mumbai at the behest of the Lawrence gang. They were arrested from Sriganganagar city by Mumbai Police and were held at Mumbai Central Jail. With their names resurfacing in this case, they were brought from Mumbai Central Jail on a production warrant by Kotwali SHO Prithvipal Singh, produced before a court, and taken on police remand.
Total Accused Rises to Six
With this development, the total number of accused held in the case has risen to six. Police said the other accused—Arpit Sharma, Rohit Singh, Azad, and Shiva Singh—have already been arrested and are currently in jail.
