The group of friends, all BTech students from Kurnool, had embarked on what was supposed to be a routine visit to relatives in Hyderabad. They began their journey at approximately 6:00 AM from Kurnool, expecting to reach their destination within a few hours. However, their plans took a terrifying turn around 10:00 AM when traffic ahead began moving unusually slowly near the Thimmapur area.
According to survivor Shaik Thalha Ahmed, 23, from Vaddegeri Street in Kurnool, the sequence of events unfolded with terrifying speed. "One lorry suddenly turned toward the petrol pump, and I immediately stopped our car," Ahmed recounted to investigating officers. "At that exact moment, a tipper truck coming from behind at high speed rammed into our vehicle with tremendous force."
The Crushing Impact and Immediate Aftermath
The violent collision created a catastrophic domino effect. The impact from the rear collision propelled the students' SUV forward, smashing it against the lorry that had turned toward the petrol pump. The car became completely trapped between the two massive vehicles, suffering catastrophic damage that left it barely recognizable as an automobile.
Kothur police officials provided detailed accounts of the injuries sustained by each student. Sameer suffered bleeding injuries on his right hand, while Aseel sustained bleeding wounds on both his head and leg. The complainant Shaik Thalha Ahmed, along with his friends Shaik Aman Basha and Rajak, received what authorities described as simple injuries. Remarkably, none of the five students sustained any fractures despite the extreme violence of the collision.
