In a daring daylight burglary in Kollam district, an unidentified thief made off with approximately 12 sovereigns of gold ornaments from a residence in Keralapuram. The Kundara police have registered a case and are actively investigating the incident, which occurred on Thursday morning.

The theft took place at the home of Vijith at 11:45 AM on Thursday. According to the police complaint, Vijith's elderly mother was the sole occupant of the house at the time. The suspect reportedly rang the calling bell to confirm that no one else was inside before entering the premises. He then managed to steal the gold ornaments without alerting the elderly woman, executing the crime with apparent precision.
CCTV Footage Provides Crucial Leads
CCTV cameras installed both inside the house and along the nearby road captured clear images of the suspect. The footage shows a well-dressed young man approaching the residence. Investigators have traced his movements, revealing that he arrived at Keralapuram Junction on a KSRTC bus from Kottarakkara and walked to the house. After committing the theft, he returned to the bus stop and boarded a private bus heading towards Kundara.
