Upon receiving the complaint, the Govind Nagar police launched a thorough investigation, with a primary focus on examining CCTV footage from the vicinity. After meticulously scanning nearly 110 CCTV recordings, the police were able to identify and track down the three accused individuals. The arrests were made swiftly, leading to the capture of Chhotu Kumar and Sumit Balmiki, both residents of Ramasre Nagar Kachchi Basti, and Krishna, also known as Utkarsh Shukla, from Gujaini F Block.

Recovery of Stolen Funds and Accused Actions

DCP Chaudhary revealed that the stolen donation box contained approximately Rs 20,000. The accused reportedly distributed the money among themselves and subsequently disposed of the empty box at the railway ground in Nirala Nagar. Investigations further uncovered that one of the accused used a portion of the stolen funds to purchase a mobile phone, while the remaining amount was spent on liquor. Fortunately, the police have successfully recovered the donation box, marking a key step in the case.

In response to the crime, the police have registered multiple cases against the accused. Specifically, three cases each have been filed against Chhotu Kumar and Sumit Balmiki at the Govind Nagar police station.
