In a significant breakthrough, the Barra police in Kanpur have apprehended the main accused, a juvenile, in the recent bombing at the residence of a prominent community leader. The minor was tracked down to the house of a transgender person in Delhi's Gokulpuri area, marking a crucial turn in the investigation.
From Delhi Hideout to Juvenile Home
The accused, who is below 18 years of age, had been absconding since the incident occurred last Saturday night. Acting on intelligence and with assistance from a dedicated surveillance team, the Barra police successfully located and apprehended the juvenile from the Delhi hideout. Following the arrest, the minor was presented before a court, which subsequently ordered his placement in a juvenile correction home.
Investigation Uncovers Case of Mistaken Identity
During interrogation, the juvenile revealed startling details about the motive and the error that led to the attack. The group had allegedly planned to bomb the house of a known history-sheeter, Ajay Thakur, on the instructions of another jailed history-sheeter, Aman Verma. Aman Verma is reported to belong to the Kishore of Barra Vishwabank area.
However, in a critical lapse, the accused individuals, who were in an inebriated state at the time, forgot the location of Thakur's house. This led them to mistakenly target the home of Manoj Singh Bhadauria, the state president of the Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha. The bombing was carried out at Manoj's house last Saturday night.
Other Accused and Ongoing Manhunt
This case has already seen several other arrests prior to the capture of the main juvenile accused. The police, who traced the vehicle used in the crime via CCTV footage, had earlier arrested Krishna Singh Parihar, the son of a sub-inspector posted in Rae Bareli, and Yash Yadav from Nayapurwa in Babupurwa. Another minor was also detained earlier in the investigation.
Both Krishna Singh Parihar and Yash Yadav have been remanded to judicial custody. One minor was already sent to a juvenile correction home. Meanwhile, the police are still searching for another individual, Harsh Yadav of Juhi Gaushala, who was reportedly sitting in the car during the incident.
DCP South, Deependra Nath Chaudhary, confirmed the sequence of events and the ongoing efforts to apprehend the remaining suspect. The investigation continues to unravel the full network and connections behind the planned attack.
