In a significant move to cripple cross-border terrorism, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized a property belonging to a Pakistan-based terrorist handler. The action, taken under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, targets the financial backbone of terror networks operating in the region.
Property Attached in Poonch Village
The attached asset is an agricultural land valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh, located in Nar village of Mendhar tehsil in Poonch district. Police officials stated that this seizure is a direct part of their ongoing campaign to dismantle the economic and logistical support systems that fuel terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Who is the Accused Terror Handler?
The property belongs to Rafiq Nai, identified by police as a launch commander of the banned terrorist outfit Tahreek-ul-Mujahideen, also known as the Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force (JKGF). A police spokesperson, on Thursday, declared Nai a "designated individual terrorist" who is wanted in several serious criminal cases.
The spokesperson detailed that Rafiq Nai is actively involved in supervising the smuggling of narcotics and weapons across the border. His role extends to facilitating the infiltration of trained militants and working towards the revival of terrorist activities specifically in the sensitive Poonch-Rajouri sector.
Sustained Strategy Against Terror Infrastructure
This property attachment is not an isolated event. It is a calculated step in a broader, sustained strategy adopted by the security forces. The objective is clear: to systematically dismantle the financial, logistical, and support infrastructure of terrorist networks.
The police emphasized that the goal is to ensure individuals involved in anti-national and terror-related activities are completely deprived of their resources. By hitting them where it hurts the most—their funding and assets—authorities aim to disrupt their operational capabilities and long-term plans.
This action underscores the continued focus of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on neutralizing threats from across the border and maintaining security in the region by targeting not just the operatives but the entire ecosystem that supports terrorism.
