Jhansi Police Make Key Arrest in Horrific Triple Murder Investigation
Police authorities in Jhansi have achieved a significant breakthrough in a disturbing triple murder case. On Monday, officers arrested the primary suspect, a retired railway technician, for his alleged involvement in the brutal killings of a 33-year-old man, his second wife, and their young son.
Retired Technician Identified as Main Suspect
Senior Superintendent of Police BBGTS Murthy confirmed the arrest of 63-year-old Ram Singh Parihar. The accused retired from his position as a senior technician with Indian Railways in 2022. Police investigations reveal he maintained relationships with two women, both named Geeta, while simultaneously developing a connection with another woman that would ultimately lead to tragedy.
Complex Web of Relationships Unravels
Ram Singh's first wife continued living in Nandanpura while his second wife resided near Saiyar Gate in the old walled city area. Approximately ten years ago, he met 32-year-old Preeti Raikwar, who was already married with three children and lived in Deli village under Raksa police station jurisdiction.
The two began meeting regularly and eventually moved into a rented house together in Lehargird. According to police statements based on the accused's admission, this relationship took a dark turn when Preeti started making frequent monetary demands. She also allegedly began meeting with a retired army personnel who owned a beauty salon.
Murder Plot and Gruesome Disposal Attempt
Frustrated by Preeti's constant requests for money and her relationship with another man, Ram Singh allegedly decided to eliminate her. Police report that on January 8, he killed Preeti using an axe. He then attempted to dispose of her body in a blue drum recovered from the murder site, but abandoned this plan when the body wouldn't fit inside.
The accused then devised an alternative method. With assistance from his second wife and their 19-year-old son Nitin, he obtained a large blue trunk and approximately two quintals of wood. Inside this trunk, he burned Preeti's body in a gruesome attempt to destroy evidence.
Transportation Attempt Leads to Capture
Ram Singh later decided to move the trunk containing the burned remains. His son called for a loader auto rickshaw to transport the blue trunk to their Saiyar Gate residence during the early hours of Saturday. The alertness of auto driver Jai Singh Pal proved crucial to solving the case.
Pal sensed something suspicious about the cargo and immediately alerted police authorities. This timely intervention led to the apprehension of all involved parties before they could complete their disposal plan.
Legal Proceedings and Further Investigation
Police have registered a case against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, specifically sections 103(1), 238(a), and 61(2)(a). The case was filed based on an application submitted by Preeti Raikwar's first husband.
Investigators plan to conduct DNA testing on the remaining body fragments recovered from the crime scene. This scientific analysis will help establish positive identification and strengthen the prosecution's case against the accused individuals.
The Jhansi police continue their investigation into all aspects of this complex case, examining the relationships and motivations that led to such extreme violence. The arrest represents a crucial step toward justice for the victims and their families.
