Jamshedpur police made significant strides in combating drug trafficking on Monday. They arrested three individuals and seized a substantial quantity of brown sugar in two distinct operations across different police station areas.
First Operation in Sidhgora
Acting on a reliable tip-off, Sidhgora police swiftly moved into action. They apprehended two suspects from an abandoned quarter near the Bhalubasa town outpost. The arrested individuals are Rahul Sandil, aged 25, and Preeti Kumari, aged 27.
Police recovered 100 small packets of brown sugar from them. The total weight of the seized substance was 23 grams. Additionally, authorities confiscated Rs 5,000 in cash from the accused.
Swift Police Action
The investigation team, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhola Prasad, caught the duo just as they attempted to flee. The suspects spotted the police and tried to escape the crime scene, but officers nabbed them promptly.
A police official stated that this was the first arrest for both accused persons. The operation demonstrates the vigilance of local law enforcement in tackling drug-related crimes.
Second Operation in Sonari
In a separate incident, Sonari police station personnel arrested another drug peddler. They identified the accused as Shyam Kumar Thakur, who is 28 years old.
Officers recovered 11 packets of brown sugar from him. The total weight of this seizure was 2 grams.
Arrest from Residence
Led by Sonari police station in-charge Manoj Kumar Thakur, the team arrested Shyam Kumar Thakur from his house in Pardesi Pada. This location falls under the limits of Sonari police station.
