Jaisalmer Police Rescue Kidnapped Youth, Arrest Eight from Haryana's Mewat Region

In a swift and decisive operation, the Sadar police in Jaisalmer successfully rescued a kidnapped youth and arrested eight men from Haryana's Mewat region, authorities confirmed on Tuesday. The arrested individuals have been identified as Fakruddin (40), Tohid (42), Mustak (30), Kamaluddin (60), Irfan (34), Mujammil (30), Ahsan (32), and Mohammad Saad (21), all residents of Nuh and Palwal districts in Haryana.

Court Proceedings and Ongoing Investigation

The accused were produced in court on Wednesday and remanded to police custody as the investigation continues. Police are actively probing the motive behind the kidnapping, with details expected to emerge as the case unfolds. SP Abhishek Shivhare provided insights into the incident, highlighting the urgency with which law enforcement responded.

Details of the Abduction and Rescue Operation

The abduction took place on February 14, following a complaint lodged by Sabir, a resident of Nuh who works at a tubewell in Jaisalmer. Sabir reported to police that his brothers, Zaheer and Ayan, had gone to Bhu village to procure supplies when 6–7 men in a white Ertiga allegedly abducted Zaheer in broad daylight. This brazen act prompted immediate action from the authorities.

Police immediately set up blockades and formed a special team, treating the case as a high-priority matter. Under the leadership of Sadar SHO Premdan Ratnu, the team coordinated closely with the District Special Team and Ramdevra police to track the suspects. Through meticulous efforts, police surrounded the accused, leading to the safe rescue of Zaheer without further incident.

Implications and Community Response

This successful operation underscores the effectiveness of coordinated police efforts in tackling serious crimes. The arrest of eight individuals from the Mewat region raises questions about cross-border criminal activities, which investigators are now examining. The community in Jaisalmer has expressed relief at the swift resolution, praising the police for their prompt response.

As the investigation progresses, authorities are focusing on uncovering the full extent of the kidnapping plot and any potential links to broader criminal networks. The case serves as a reminder of the challenges law enforcement faces in rural and border areas, but also highlights their capability to act decisively in critical situations.
