In a shocking incident from Madhya Pradesh, a 45-year-old woman was found dead under suspicious circumstances at her residence in Indore's Niranjanpur area on Wednesday night. The police, after receiving the post-mortem report, have now confirmed the case as murder.
Victim Found in Pool of Blood
The deceased has been identified as Sangeeta Chauhan. She was discovered lying with severe injuries on the kitchen floor of her home. The police reported that she had sustained deep wounds to her head. Family members immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared her dead on arrival, prompting the police to initiate a formal investigation.
Husband Flees Scene, Motive Suspected
According to Taresh Soni, the in-charge of Lasudia police station, the tragic discovery was made by the victim's sons. They returned home from work late in the evening and did not find their mother in the front room. Upon checking the kitchen, they saw her lying unconscious in a pool of blood.
One of the sons raised an alarm and claimed he witnessed their father, Ramesh Chauhan, running out of the house at the same time. The family alerted neighbours and took Sangeeta to the hospital, but she could not be saved.
The post-mortem examination conducted on Thursday confirmed that Sangeeta died due to head injuries caused by a heavy object. Investigators have since launched a massive search for her husband, Ramesh, who has been missing since the incident. A dedicated police team has been formed to trace him.
History of Domestic Disputes Emerges
During preliminary questioning, the victim's son informed the police that his father was allegedly involved in an extramarital affair with another woman. This situation had led to frequent disputes and arguments within the household. Sangeeta worked as a tailor, while Ramesh was employed as a loading vehicle driver.
The police stated that while the alleged affair appears to be a primary motive, the exact circumstances will become clearer only after Ramesh Chauhan is apprehended. Further inquiries are actively underway, and efforts are focused on tracking down the suspect at the earliest.
