Indore Police Personnel Suspended Over Alleged House Break-In and Gold Theft

In a shocking incident in Indore, five police personnel have been suspended for allegedly breaking into a residential house, misbehaving with the occupants, and stealing gold jewellery. The event, which reportedly occurred on the night of April 1, has prompted a formal departmental investigation, as confirmed by news agency ANI.

Formal Complaint Leads to Immediate Suspension

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Kumar Prateek stated that the suspension followed a formal complaint filed by the victim. "This entire incident occurred on the night of April 1st, when five to six policemen went to the complainant's house. A complaint was received that these policemen forcibly entered his house by breaking down the door and misbehaved. Upon receiving the complaint, all five policemen have been suspended," he explained. He further added that the matter is being investigated by ACP Vijaynagar, with further action contingent on the findings.

Background of the Incident and Investigation Details

Officials revealed that the policemen had initially gone to execute a warrant related to a cheque bounce case involving one Gaurav Jain, who is connected to a financial dispute with retired ACP Rakesh Gupta. However, the complainant has alleged that during the incident, approximately 20 tola of gold jewellery was stolen. Kumar Prateek emphasized that the investigation is also focusing on the Lasudia TI, and if involvement is established, appropriate action will be taken.

Separate Incident of Violence in Indore

In a separate and unrelated incident, a 35-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute over bike parking in Indore district on Sunday evening. The incident took place in the Gauri Nagar locality under the Hira Nagar police station area. The victim, identified as Surendra Sahu, had attended a wedding function with his eight-year-old son. Police reported that multiple eyewitnesses were present, and their statements are currently being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
