A private worker in Hyderabad faced a brutal attack from her own husband on Saturday afternoon. The incident unfolded in the Doctor Basthi area of D Pochampally, Dundigal. Police reports indicate the assault occurred after the woman refused to give her husband money to purchase liquor.
Violent Argument Over Liquor Money
The accused, identified as Yadul, works as a labourer. His wife, Shaheen, holds a job at a private company in Dundigal. According to local authorities, Yadul has a known addiction to liquor. He frequently harassed Shaheen for money to feed his habit.
On Saturday, the situation escalated dramatically. Yadul picked a heated argument with Shaheen when she once again denied him funds for alcohol. The disagreement turned violent in their rented home in Doctor Basthi, where they live with their five children.
Knife Attack and Immediate Aftermath
During the confrontation, Yadul allegedly attacked Shaheen with a knife. She suffered a bleeding injury to her stomach. The victim raised an alarm, alerting neighbours to the crisis inside the house. Yadul then fled the scene, leaving his injured wife behind.
Concerned neighbours acted swiftly. They rushed Shaheen to a nearby private hospital for urgent medical attention. Doctors at the facility administered three stitches to treat her wound. Police Inspector P Satish from Dundigal confirmed that Shaheen's condition is now out of danger.
Police Register Case and Launch Manhunt
Based on a formal complaint filed by Shaheen, the Dundigal police have registered a serious case against Yadul. The charges fall under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to attempt to murder. This legal action underscores the gravity of the alleged crime.
Authorities have launched an extensive manhunt to locate and apprehend Yadul, who remains at large. The police are actively pursuing all leads to bring the accused to justice. This case highlights ongoing issues of domestic violence linked to substance abuse in the region.
