According to police investigators, the accused, identified as Sudhakar, a resident of Nalla Mekalapalli, had married Srilekha, aged 26 and from Tadipatri, a few years ago. Recently, Sudhakar had been frequently harassing his wife after developing suspicions about her behavior. Due to ongoing disputes, he had been living separately from her for the past few days, indicating a deteriorating marital relationship.

Fatal Altercation and Attempt to Conceal Evidence

On Sunday night, Sudhakar allegedly met Srilekha near Ellanur Road, where an argument reportedly broke out between the couple. During the heated altercation, he is accused of strangling her to death. After committing the crime, Sudhakar reportedly transported the body in a lorry and dumped it in a forested area near Muchukota forest in an attempt to hide the evidence and evade detection.

Surrender and Police Investigation

Following the murder, Sudhakar went to the Peddappur Police Station and surrendered, confessing to the police that he had killed his wife. Based on his confession, the police immediately launched a search operation in the Muchukota forest area to locate the body. Officials confirmed that a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to establish the exact sequence of events leading to the murder.
