A shocking murder has rattled the Kuntumaranapalli village near Hosur in Krishnagiri district. A 31-year-old real estate businessman, identified as M Guruprasad, was stabbed to death at his residence on Thursday morning. The incident, stemming from an alleged monetary dispute, has sent waves of fear through the local community.
Morning Visit Turns Deadly: The Sequence of Events
According to police from the Kelamangalam station, the tragedy unfolded in the early hours. Babu, a resident of Mekkalakavunoor village who worked with Guruprasad, arrived at the victim's home with three other individuals. Under the pretext of discussing a matter, Babu took Guruprasad aside.
Shortly after, Guruprasad's mother, Munirathinamma, realized that a heated argument had erupted between her son and the visitors. Sensing danger, she immediately rushed out of the house to seek help from neighbours to intervene and break up the fight.
However, the assailants acted swiftly. By the time Munirathinamma returned with assistance, the group had already fatally stabbed Guruprasad with a knife and fled the scene. The police were alerted, and a team soon arrived to secure the area.
Police Investigation Points to Financial Motive
Law enforcement officials quickly initiated an investigation. The body of M Guruprasad was recovered and sent to the Denkanikottai Government Hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
