Complaint Filed Over Alleged Conversion Materials in Local Trains
The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti has approached authorities seeking action against the circulation of materials aimed at religious conversion and fraudulent advertisements in Mumbai's local train network. The organization claims that such content is being distributed on trains, especially on the Panvel-CSMT route.
Details of the Allegations
According to a statement from the Samiti, the materials include pamphlets and posters promoting religious conversion, alongside advertisements that promote superstition and dubious services. The group has urged the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) to investigate the matter and take strict action against those responsible.
“These activities are not only illegal but also violate the secular fabric of the nation. We demand immediate action to stop the distribution of such materials,” said a spokesperson for the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
Impact and Response
The Samiti has also called for increased vigilance on trains and at stations to prevent such incidents. The complaint highlights that the Panvel-CSMT route, which sees heavy commuter traffic, is particularly affected. Authorities have not yet issued a formal response, but the matter is expected to be reviewed by railway officials.
