Hazaribag Blast Victims' Bodies Retrieved After Forensic Examination

Authorities retrieved the bodies of two victims from the Hazaribag explosion site on Thursday afternoon. This recovery happened nearly twenty hours after the tragic incident occurred on Wednesday. The blast took place in the densely populated Habibi Nagar area around 4:10 pm.

Forensic Team Conducts Detailed Investigation

A specialized team from the state forensic science laboratory in Ranchi examined the scene thoroughly. The bomb disposal squad first sanitized the entire area to ensure safety. Police personnel maintained a continuous presence at the spot throughout the night. They waited patiently for forensic experts to arrive and complete their work.

The bodies were then transported to Sheikh Bhikari Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination. This formal procedure followed the detailed forensic investigation at the blast location.

Victims Identified as Local Residents

Police identified the deceased as Mohammad Saddam, his wife Nanhi Parveen, and Rashida Parveen. All three individuals were residents of Habibi Nagar. The married couple died instantly at the explosion site. Rashida, who was sitting nearby, sustained severe injuries during the blast. She tragically passed away while being transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Explosion During Land Clearing Activity

Preliminary police investigations revealed disturbing details about the incident. The couple was clearing bushes on a vacant plot behind their rented house when the explosion occurred. This property falls under the jurisdiction of the Bara Bazar police station. Investigators believe an explosive device buried underground detonated during their landscaping work.

DSP Manoj Singh confirmed that forensic experts collected multiple samples from the blast site. The bomb disposal squad also gathered evidence for further analysis. Their findings will help determine the exact nature and origin of the explosive material.

Security Measures and Legal Procedures

Hazaribag SDPO Amit Kumar Anand announced significant security measures following the incident. Authorities have deployed a team of Jharkhand Jaguar personnel to the area. Police have officially sealed the blast site to preserve evidence and prevent unauthorized access.

Forensic expert Sanjay Rana, a retired DSP, explained the legal procedures involved. He noted that the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita mandates specific protocols for crime scene investigation. Only qualified forensic experts can collect samples in cases involving potential punishments of seven years or more. Since the explosion occurred in the evening, authorities requested forensic and bomb disposal teams to visit the next morning. Investigators left the bodies at the scene overnight so experts could collect explosive samples directly from the victims and the surrounding area.

Family Seeks Government Compensation

Mohammad Yunus, father of deceased Mohammad Saddam, shared heartbreaking details about his son's plans. Saddam had purchased the land three years earlier and intended to begin house construction. He told family members he would clean the property before starting building work. The explosion happened while he and his wife Nanhi were removing bushes from the plot.

The grieving father has appealed to government authorities for compensation. He emphasized the need for financial support for the couple's three minor children, who now face life without their parents.
