Haryana Police Arrests 174 in Statewide Crackdown

In a sweeping statewide crackdown, Haryana Police executed a major offensive against criminal networks on Wednesday. The intensive drive, codenamed 'Operation Hotspot Domination', saw simultaneous raids across 830 identified hotspots, resulting in the arrest of 174 accused individuals and a significant blow to organized crime.

Major Haul: Violent Offenders, Cash, and Narcotics

The police spokesperson highlighted the apprehension of 30 hardened and violent offenders as the operation's most significant achievement. Gurugram district led this charge with the arrest of 12 such criminals. The operation also netted 10 accused found with illegal weapons. In a parallel strike on economic and narcotics networks, police recovered a total of Rs 14 lakh in cash statewide. Notable seizures included Rs 12 lakh in Faridabad and Rs 2 lakh in Kaithal.

The anti-drug push yielded substantial results, with police confiscating:

  • 6.18 kg of ganja (including 5.7 kg from Charkhi Dadri alone)
  • 192 grams and 19.85 grams of heroin
  • 17.7 kg of poppy husk
  • 2 kg of charas
  • 1,005 bottles of illicit liquor and 320 litres of lahan

Authorities also seized three country-made pistols, four pistols, and 18 live cartridges during the raids.

District-Wide Performance and Cyber Crime Bust

Bhiwani police emerged as the top performer, arresting 60 accused from 72 locations and registering seven new cases. Gurugram police, raiding 65 locations, registered six cases and arrested 10 accused. The operation also fostered inter-state cooperation, with Haryana Police sharing 19 crucial intelligence inputs with other states to dismantle cross-border networks. A total of 60 new criminal cases were registered based on the day's actions.

In a related cyber crime crackdown over the past 24 hours, police acted swiftly on 317 complaints via helpline 1930. Their efforts led to the freezing of Rs 76.03 lakh (42.36% of the Rs 1.79 crore reported cheated) and the arrest of 22 cyber criminals. An additional Rs 11.35 lakh was recovered. To prevent future fraud, authorities permanently blocked 455 mobile numbers and 45 IMEI numbers.

Strengthening a Zero-Tolerance Stance

This large-scale operation underscores Haryana Police's reinforced zero-tolerance policy against crime and anti-social elements. By targeting known hotspots and focusing on violent offenders, drug trafficking, and cyber fraud, the force aims to disrupt criminal ecosystems decisively. The recovery of significant cash and narcotics, along with the high number of arrests, demonstrates the operation's scale and its impact on enhancing public safety across the state.
