Two-Year-Old Girl Abducted in Haridwar Found Near Bus Station Within Hours

In a distressing incident in Haridwar, a two-year-old girl was abducted while sleeping beside her mother at Tulsi Ghat on Thursday night. The child was miraculously found near the Haridwar bus station within just a few hours, according to police officials. The abduction came to light on Friday morning, prompting an immediate and extensive search operation by local authorities.

CCTV Footage Reveals Suspect and Swift Police Action

CCTV footage from the area played a crucial role in the investigation, clearly showing a 25-year-old man abducting the young child. Police reported that the accused, unable to leave the city, allegedly abandoned the girl near the bus station due to fears of arrest. This quick abandonment led to the child's safe recovery before any harm could occur.

SSP Navneet Bhullar detailed the police response, stating that information was received around 9 am on Friday. "All teams were put on high alert and a massive search operation was launched. The girl was handed over to her family," he said, highlighting the efficiency of the operation. Efforts are currently underway to trace and arrest the accused, with police actively pursuing leads to ensure justice is served.

Background of the Family and Ongoing Investigation

The child's mother, a native of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, is homeless and currently residing in Haridwar. She had moved to the city after the death of her husband and was living with her cousin, along with her two minor daughters. This tragic event underscores the vulnerabilities faced by homeless families in urban areas.

Police have emphasized their commitment to resolving the case swiftly, with ongoing investigations focused on identifying the suspect's motives and preventing similar incidents in the future. The community has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
