Gurgaon Barber Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Friend Over Sister's Relationship
In a shocking crime that has gripped Gurgaon, a 27-year-old man was arrested for allegedly killing his friend and disposing of the body in a drain. The incident, driven by a personal grudge related to the victim's relationship with the accused's sister, unfolded over several days before police cracked the case through meticulous investigation.
Details of the Arrest and Accused
The accused, identified as Jishan, is a barber by profession and hails from Chuchela Kalan village in Amroha district of Uttar Pradesh. He was apprehended by Gurgaon police on February 2, following a detailed probe into the disappearance and subsequent murder of his friend, Suheb, who was also 27 years old and from the same village. Suheb worked at a salon in Jai Vihar, adding a tragic twist to this tale of betrayal among acquaintances.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Murder
According to police reports, Jishan lured Suheb to Gurgaon under the pretense of some work. Upon Suheb's arrival at Jishan's rented accommodation, the accused allegedly served him alcohol and then strangled him with an electric wire during the intervening night of January 24 and January 25. The body was kept concealed inside the room for nearly 24 hours before being wrapped in a blanket and dumped in a dirty drain near Prakashpuri Chowk on January 26.
Deceptive Tactics and Police Investigation
In an attempt to mislead authorities, Jishan accompanied Suheb's family to the police station to file a missing persons complaint. He falsely claimed that Suheb had traveled to Delhi's Mustafabad area for work and never returned. However, suspicion arose when his account did not align with CCTV evidence. Although the camera at Jishan's house was non-functional, police examined footage from a neighboring residence, uncovering critical discrepancies.
CCTV Evidence and Confession
The investigation revealed that Jishan's timeline was inconsistent. He stated he left for work at 6 PM, but CCTV footage showed his motorcycle parked outside his house at that time. More damningly, between 11 PM and midnight, two men were captured on camera carrying a heavy object wrapped in a blanket, with one holding it from the head and the other from the legs, forming a distinct 'C' shape suggestive of a human body. When confronted, Jishan initially claimed it was wood for lighting a fire near the railway station, but later confessed to the crime.
Motive Behind the Gruesome Act
Jishan admitted to harboring deep resentment after discovering intimate photographs of his sister on Suheb's phone two years prior. This long-simmering grudge allegedly drove him to commit the murder. Police noted that the accused believed the area near the railway line lacked CCTV coverage, leading him to choose the drain as a disposal site for the body.
Recovery of the Body and Conclusion
Following Jishan's confession, police, with assistance from the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), located and recovered Suheb's body from the drain. This case highlights the lengths to which personal vendettas can escalate and underscores the importance of thorough police work in solving complex crimes. The arrest serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of unresolved conflicts in close-knit communities.
