Gujarat Police Conduct Major Liquor Bust on Mumbai-Surat Highway

The state monitoring cell of Gujarat Police executed a significant raid on Saturday. Officers targeted a location near the Sangam Solar Plant at Una village bridge in Navsari district. This site lies along the busy Mumbai–Surat highway.

Intelligence Leads to Swift Interception

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the police team moved quickly. They conducted a running raid within the jurisdiction of Navsari Rural police station. During this operation, they successfully intercepted a vehicle carrying illegal goods.

Police recovered a massive consignment of Indian-made foreign liquor from the vehicle. The haul included 14,016 bottles of IMFL. Officials estimated the value of this liquor at Rs 37.62 lakh.

Additional Seizures and Arrest Made

In addition to the liquor, officers seized several other items. They confiscated the vehicle used in the transport, valuing it at Rs 25 lakh. A mobile phone worth Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,000 in cash were also taken into custody.

Authorities found forged bills and documents during the raid. The total value of all seized items reached an estimated Rs 62.69 lakh.

Police arrested one individual in connection with the case. The accused is Akhileshsingh, also known as Dipaksingh Rameshsingh. He resides in Pandesara, Surat. Officers handed him over to Navsari police for further investigation.

Wanted Suspect Named

Investigators have identified another person as wanted in this case. They named Vinod Pandit, a resident of Palsana in Surat. Police are actively searching for him to proceed with the inquiry.

Inspector M S Trivedi of the state monitoring cell led the entire raid operation. His team's efforts resulted in this substantial seizure and arrest.
