In a disturbing incident in Mumbai's Govandi area, a 38-year-old labourer was allegedly stabbed by his wife and his cousin after he reportedly caught them in a compromising position at his home on Sunday. The police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the duo for attempt to murder, highlighting the severity of the attack.
Discovery of the Compromising Situation
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, returned to his home to collect a key when he made a shocking discovery. He found the front door bolted from the inside and noticed an unfamiliar pair of slippers outside, raising his suspicions. Upon entering, he allegedly witnessed his wife and his maternal uncle's son, who lives nearby, engaging in a sexual act. This confrontation led to immediate chaos, with the cousin fleeing the scene to avoid further altercation.
Escalation to Violent Attack
Later that night, the situation took a violent turn. The wife called the labourer and his cousin for what was supposed to be a discussion. However, the meeting quickly devolved into a heated argument at the house. During the confrontation, the cousin allegedly pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the man in the chest. The victim managed to dodge the initial attack, but the blow struck his right hand, resulting in severe injuries including a severed thumb and slashed fingers.
In a further escalation, the wife then allegedly stabbed the labourer in the left thigh, compounding his injuries. Despite the brutal assault, the victim showed remarkable resilience and managed to escape from the scene, seeking immediate medical attention.
Medical Treatment and Police Response
The injured labourer was first taken to a local dispensary for initial care before being shifted to Sion hospital for more comprehensive treatment. Medical reports indicate that he sustained significant wounds to his right hand and left thigh, requiring ongoing medical supervision. Police officials have confirmed the filing of the FIR and are actively investigating the case to gather more details and ensure justice is served.
