Goa Chief Minister Announces Swift Action Against YouTuber for Alleged Offensive Remarks
In a firm declaration on Tuesday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that YouTuber Gautam Khattar will be arrested within the next two days and brought to Goa to face legal proceedings. This announcement follows the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Khattar for making statements that have been deemed offensive towards St Francis Xavier, a revered figure in Goa, leading to widespread outrage across the state.
Chief Minister's Statement on the Case
Chief Minister Sawant emphasized that individuals who hurt the sentiments of Goans in such a manner will not be spared from legal consequences. The case has been transferred to the crime branch to expedite the tracking and apprehension of Khattar. Sawant confirmed that a police team has already been dispatched to locate him, expressing confidence that the arrest will be made within the stipulated 48-hour timeframe.
"An FIR has already been registered against him, and action as per law will be taken," Sawant asserted, underscoring the government's commitment to upholding the law and protecting communal harmony in Goa.
