Gaya Doctor Masterminds Fake Extortion Call to Terrorize Wife
Police in Gaya have solved a bizarre case of alleged extortion. They arrested two more individuals on Saturday, bringing the total to three arrests. The case involves a fake extortion call made to Vibha Kumari, the wife of Dr Satendra Kumar.
Dr Satendra Kumar serves as a professor and head of the neurosurgery department at Anugrah Narain Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH). The police now hold him responsible for orchestrating the entire scheme.
Arrests Made and Motive Revealed
Authorities identified the two newly arrested men as Irshad Ahmad and Naushad Ahmad. Both reside in the Gewalbigha locality under the Rampur police station area of Gaya district.
City SP Kota Kiran stated that investigators traced the call using detailed records. The evidence led them directly to Irshad and Naushad.
During questioning, the duo confessed. They admitted to making the threatening call. Police say they acted on the direct instructions of Dr Satendra Kumar, Vibha Kumari's own husband.
The doctor's motive was simple yet shocking. He wanted to "terrorise" his wife. Police confirmed the couple was not on good terms. Dr Kumar hired the two men specifically for this criminal job.
Police Build a Strong Case
Officers examined all available evidence. This included both circumstantial and technical records. The statements from Irshad and Naushad matched the evidence perfectly. Police found their accounts credible and consistent.
The investigation began earlier. On Friday, police detained a personal aide of Dr Satendra Kumar. This aide, described as the doctor's compounder, was questioned and later released.
However, the aide's testimony proved crucial. He confirmed the doctor's involvement in planning the fake crime. This supported the allegations against Dr Kumar.
Police also discovered more troubling details. They reviewed objectionable messages exchanged between Dr Satendra Kumar and another woman. This finding adds another layer to the ongoing marital discord.
Judicial Custody and Further Probe
All three accused individuals—Dr Satendra Kumar, Irshad Ahmad, and Naushad Ahmad—have been forwarded to judicial custody.
Police officials are being cautious with public statements. They are reluctant to speak on record about future steps. However, sources indicate the investigation will continue. Officers will likely explore the doctor's future plans and any other potential schemes.
ANMMCH Administration Reacts
The arrest has caught the medical college administration by surprise. ANMMCH principal, Dr Rajendra Prasad, made a surprising revelation. He stated that local police did not formally inform the college authorities about Dr Satendra Kumar's arrest.
Dr Prasad said he learned about the incident through newspaper reports. No departmental action has been initiated against the doctor so far.
The principal has taken a formal step. He sent a letter to the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Magadh Medical College police station. The letter includes news clippings about the case.
Dr Prasad aims to ascertain the facts directly from the police. He stated that any follow-up action by the college will depend entirely on the official police response.
