Bhubaneswar Police Arrest Fourth Accused in Minor Gang Rape Case

Police in Bhubaneswar made another arrest on Friday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a minor girl. This arrest brings the total number of suspects in custody to four out of five involved in the case. Police sources confirmed this development, highlighting progress in the investigation.

Details of the Arrest and Crime

The arrested man had been evading authorities since the incident occurred. Officers stated that the 17-year-old survivor and her male friend were attacked on December 10, 2025. The assault took place while the pair were conversing along an isolated stretch on the city outskirts.

During the attack, the boy faced assault and was held hostage. Three of the accused then raped the girl in his presence. The survivor filed a formal complaint the next day, initiating the police investigation.

Investigation Findings

Investigations uncovered that the five men attended a feast in another area before proceeding to the crime scene. Allegedly intoxicated, they committed the crime near a riverbank. The accused subjected the boy and girl to nearly three hours of torture.

In addition to the assault, the accused robbed the survivor of her jewellery. They also filmed the entire incident, adding to the severity of the charges.

Police continue to pursue the remaining suspect as the case moves forward. The community remains shocked by the brutality of the crime, with authorities emphasizing their commitment to justice.
