Father Killed While Trying to Protect Son in Surat
In a tragic incident rooted in an old enmity, the Udhna police in Surat have arrested four individuals, including a minor, for the murder of a 50-year-old man. The victim, Dhanraj Tayde, was fatally attacked when he stepped in to defuse a violent situation targeting his son.
Old Grudge Leads to Fatal Confrontation
According to police officials, the attack on Tuesday was the violent culmination of a rivalry that began approximately one-and-a-half years ago. The primary accused, Dipak Vagh alias Karan, had a prior quarrel with the victim's son, Vicky Tayde alias Lucky. This earlier altercation had even led to a formal police complaint, and the accused reportedly nursed a grudge since that time.
The plan, as revealed by the investigation, was to target Vicky Tayde. The accused group, comprising Karan, Yogesh Nagarade, Vishal Vagh, and the minor, allegedly went to Buddh Mandir Gali in the Udhna area where Vicky was present.
A Failed Escape and a Father's Fatal Intervention
When the group attempted to assault Vicky, he managed to flee from the spot, evading the immediate danger. However, his father, Dhanraj Tayde, hearing the commotion, rushed to the scene to understand what was happening.
In a brutal turn of events, as Dhanraj arrived, Vishal Vagh and the minor allegedly held him back, restraining him. Meanwhile, Dipak Vagh (Karan) and Yogesh Nagarade are accused of attacking the helpless man with a sharp-edged weapon. The assault was so severe that Dhanraj Tayde died on the spot.
Legal Action and Charges Filed
The Udhna police acted swiftly, registering a case and apprehending all four accused. They have been booked under relevant sections of the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for the murder. The police confirmed that the initial intent was to harm Vicky, but the violence was redirected towards his intervening father.
This incident has sent shockwaves through the local community in Surat's Udhna area, highlighting how unresolved personal disputes can escalate into deadly violence. The investigation is ongoing as authorities look into all aspects of the longstanding rivalry.
