In a significant crackdown, Haryana Police successfully apprehended four wanted criminals following an intense exchange of gunfire in Rewari district. The encounter, which took place in the early hours of Wednesday, resulted in injuries to all four accused, who were subsequently hospitalized under police guard.
The Midnight Confrontation and Arrest
The operation unfolded near the Dharuhera Chowk on the Rewari-Bawal road. Acting on a specific tip-off regarding the movement of a gang involved in serious crimes, a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ravinder Kumar laid a strategic checkpoint. When signaled to stop, the occupants of a suspicious car allegedly opened fire on the police party, prompting an immediate retaliatory response.
The police team, exercising controlled force, returned fire, aiming to disable the vehicle and neutralize the threat. All four individuals inside the car sustained gunshot wounds to their legs during the brief but fierce shootout. The police swiftly secured the scene and rushed the injured accused to the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Rohtak for medical treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable.
Identifying the Wanted Accused
The arrested individuals have been identified as residents of Rajasthan and have a long history of criminal activities spanning multiple states. The police confirmed their involvement in a series of grave offenses. Kuldeep, also known as Kanta, hails from Jhunjhunu and was a key figure wanted in several cases. Vikas, alias Vicky, from Churu district, was another prime target. They were accompanied by Rahul, a resident of Jaipur, and Kapil, alias Kali, from Sikar district.
Authorities have linked the gang to a wide range of crimes, including armed robbery, attempted murder, and violations under the stringent Arms Act. The successful operation has dealt a major blow to an inter-state criminal network operating in the National Capital Region (NCR) and surrounding areas.
Recoveries and Ongoing Investigation
Following the encounter, the police conducted a thorough search and made critical recoveries from the suspects' possession. The seized items include:
- Four country-made pistols

Senior police officials have stated that the investigation is ongoing to uncover the full extent of the gang's criminal portfolio. Efforts are being made to link them to other unsolved cases in Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi. The police are also probing their potential connections to other organized crime syndicates and their sources of illegal weapons.
