Gurugram police have arrested four men for allegedly kidnapping a friend over an old dispute and holding him captive in Uttar Pradesh. The victim was rescued, and the accused were produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
Victim’s Wife Filed Complaint
On June 5, a woman reported her husband Chandan Pandey missing. A case was registered at Rajendra Park police station under relevant sections of the BNS. Police launched an investigation and rescued Pandey from Uttar Pradesh on the night of June 6. He was allegedly held captive by four individuals. Based on the victim's statement, kidnapping charges were added.
Accused Arrested in UP
On June 7, police arrested four accused from Uttar Pradesh: Abhilash (26), Happy (37), and Tony (34), all from Jahazgarh village in Gurugram district, and Satendra (42) from Asroli village in Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh.
Police interrogation revealed that the victim, Chandan Pandey, is addicted to drugs and had become acquainted with the accused, who are also alleged drug users. A few days earlier, Pandey had assaulted Abhilash. On May 5, when Pandey went to Abhilash’s house, all four accused allegedly assaulted him in retaliation. They then kidnapped him using Pandey’s own car and took him to Satendra’s house in Uttar Pradesh, where he was kept confined. After two days of police remand, the accused were produced in court and sent to judicial custody, according to the Gurugram police spokesperson.
