A massive fire erupted in the early hours of Saturday at two adjoining industrial units on Noombal Main Road near Vanagaram in Chennai, destroying goods worth several lakh rupees. The blaze was brought under control after an extensive firefighting operation. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

Details of the Incident

According to officials, the fire started suddenly at a paint manufacturing unit and spread to the neighbouring eye-drop manufacturing unit in Noombal. Preliminary investigations suggest that an electrical short circuit may have triggered the blaze. However, police are probing the exact cause of the fire.

Emergency Response

Upon receiving information, fire and rescue personnel from Maduravoyal, Poonamallee, and Virugambakkam stations rushed to the spot with firefighting equipment. People from the units were evacuated safely.
