A significant fire broke out on Friday morning at a high-rise residential building in Ranchi, causing substantial damage to an apartment on the 11th floor. The incident occurred at the 13-storey Pearl Orchid Apartment located in the Argora area.
Residents Escape Unharmed as Flames Engulf Kitchen
The affected residence belonged to police officer Abhinav Pathak. Officials confirmed that all occupants of the flat managed to evacuate in time and escaped without any injuries. Initial observations by the fire department suggest the blaze originated in the kitchen, though the exact cause is still under investigation.
Massive Firefighting Operation Launched
Responding to the emergency, the state fire services deployed a substantial force to control the flames. State fire officer Jitendra Tiwari stated that seven fire tenders were rushed to the scene. The firefighters battled the blaze for approximately one hour before successfully extinguishing it, preventing it from spreading to other units in the tall building.

While the official probe is ongoing, preliminary accounts from the residents point towards an electrical short circuit as the likely trigger for the fire. Officer Tiwari noted that the condition of the kitchen strongly indicates it was the epicenter of the incident.
