A fire erupted at a scrap yard located along the Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road in the Kurla scrap area of Mandala, Mankhurd, on Tuesday morning. The incident was first reported at 8:15 am and was officially classified as a Level I (minor) fire by 8:19 am, according to fire department officials.

The fire was confined to a variety of materials including oil cans, plastic materials, dry waste, and stockpiles of wood. These items were spread across an open ground measuring approximately 50 feet by 500 feet, creating a significant but contained hazard.
In response to the emergency, firefighting authorities deployed a substantial fleet to the scene. This included four fire engines, five jumbo tankers, two water tankers, one quick response vehicle, and a 108 ambulance. The swift mobilization aimed to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures or causing environmental damage.
