FIR Registered for Kishangarh Airport Vandalism Following High-Level Security Inspection
Police in Ajmer have officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals for vandalizing the premises of Kishangarh airport. This action comes after a detailed inspection by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) confirmed serious security lapses at the facility.
Details of the Incident and Damage
According to the police complaint, a private luxury car, identified as a BMW electric vehicle with registration number RJ-29-CF-0001, entered the airport campus illegally. The vehicle was driven at high speed, causing damage to electricity poles and other critical structures on the premises. Sources indicate that the occupants were allegedly shooting a social media reel during this reckless incident.
The case was filed at the Gandhi Nagar police station nearly a month after the incident occurred on March 18. The delay in registration was due to the awaited BCAS inspection report, which validated the security breaches. CCTV footage from the airport has been collected and is currently under examination by the investigating authorities.
Security Lapses and Investigation Progress
The BCAS team, which conducted a thorough inspection after the incident was reported, found significant lapses in the airport's security arrangements. Based on this report, airport authorities proceeded to file the FIR. Kishangarh SHO Sanjay Sharma inspected the site on Friday, and Ajmer SP Harsh Vardhan Agarwala confirmed that the complaint details both the damage to poles and the illegal entry of the private vehicle.
Preliminary findings suggest that the individuals in the luxury car may have connections to a private aviation training group, though police are verifying this through analysis of the CCTV footage. Sources revealed that the vehicle entered through the airport's staff gate around 4 AM and was not stopped or questioned by security personnel, highlighting a major oversight.
Airport Security Measures and Ongoing Probe
Kishangarh airport is classified as a high-security facility, with approximately 75 police personnel deployed daily, 15 watch towers, and Quick Response Teams from the Rajasthan Police and CISF active during flight operations. Flights from this airport currently connect to cities including Pune, Lucknow, and Ahmedabad.
Additional SP (Rural) Deepak Kumar has confirmed that the FIR has been registered and the investigation is actively ongoing. Attempts to obtain a statement from acting airport director BC Meena were unsuccessful, as his phone remained unanswered on Friday. The occupants allegedly moved around the premises filming videos before the car struck poles and other structures while exiting from the wrong side, further compounding the security breach.
