Tragic Family Suicide in Kurukshetra: Couple and Daughter Found Dead
In a heartbreaking incident, a couple and their three-year-old daughter were discovered deceased at their residence in Kurukshetra's Prem Nagar Colony on Monday morning. The victims have been identified as Jatinder Kumar, a 30-year-old railway mail service employee, his wife Manju, aged 28, and their daughter Advika.
Details of the Tragedy
Preliminary investigations by police authorities indicate that the couple was grappling with severe depression, primarily linked to the health challenges of their daughter. Advika was a special child diagnosed with paralysis, which reportedly placed significant emotional strain on the family.
According to initial findings, the tragic events unfolded on the child's third birthday. The couple allegedly ended their daughter's life before proceeding to die by suicide themselves. The bodies were found hanging from a ceiling fan hook in their home.
Discovery and Investigation
Jatinder Kumar had sent a message to his brother-in-law prior to the incident and left behind a suicide note. Upon receiving this communication, the relative rushed to the residence at approximately 6:30 am, where he discovered the three bodies.
Police officials from Krishna Gate police station promptly arrived at the scene. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital, where medical professionals declared all three brought dead. Inspector Baljit Singh, the Station House Officer, confirmed that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
"We are thoroughly examining the suicide note and investigating all aspects of this matter," stated Inspector Baljit Singh. "Our preliminary assessment suggests the couple was struggling with depression related to their daughter's health condition."
Family Background
Jatinder Kumar is survived by his mother, Bimla Devi, and a brother who currently resides in Canada. His father, a retired Punjab Police Assistant Sub-Inspector, had passed away approximately six months prior to this incident, adding to the family's recent hardships.
