The Kharadi police in Pune have taken decisive action by registering a formal case against a 23-year-old externed criminal and his ten accomplices. This legal move comes in direct response to the emergence of video reels on various social media platforms that captured the group dancing and celebrating in a vibrant, unauthorized gathering in the Kharadi area on March 28.
Unauthorized Stage Setup and Social Media Exposure
According to detailed police reports, the accused individuals had erected a makeshift stage and installed a comprehensive sound and lighting system without obtaining any prior permission from the relevant authorities. The externed criminal, who is already facing charges in three separate Indian Penal Code cases related to causing bodily harm, was prominently featured in the videos, dancing energetically on the stage alongside his friends.
His accomplices actively recorded the entire event on their mobile phones and subsequently uploaded the footage to multiple social media platforms. Some members of the group also shared these clips as status updates on popular messaging applications, as documented in the First Information Report filed by the police.
Violation of Externment Order and Legal Consequences
Police authorities have clarified that the primary accused had been officially externed from Pune city and district limits for a period of two years, with the order set to be in effect until 2025. This legal directive explicitly prohibited him from entering the city during this timeframe.
However, he is alleged to have blatantly violated this externment order by returning to Pune, where he not only participated in the gathering but also actively engaged in recording the social media reels. This act of defiance has compounded the legal troubles for the individual, adding charges related to the violation of externment conditions to his existing criminal record.
